I’m Imran Syed, and I’m standing for Vice President because I want student representation to feel useful, not decorative.

Ravensbourne is full of talented people from every course like designers, filmmakers, animators, musicians, technologists, business minds, and creatives who don’t fit into neat boxes. What we all have in common is this: we want our university experience to actually work for us.

If elected, here’s what I’ll do differently:

I’ll Be Present (Not Just Elected)

I won’t disappear after voting week. I’ll be visible, approachable, and easy to talk to, whether that’s in person or online. If students raise issues, I’ll respond. Revolutionary, I know.

Less Talk, More Doing

Not every problem needs a meeting about another meeting. I’ll focus on practical solutions, clear communication, and following things through, even when it’s not glamorous.

A Better Student Experience (Across Every Course)

University life shouldn’t feel like survival mode. I’ll support initiatives that improve day-to-day student life, encourage collaboration between courses, and make campus feel more connected and alive.

Wellbeing Without the Buzzwords

Stress is real. Deadlines are real. I’ll push for better awareness of support, more understanding during peak pressure, and a culture where struggling doesn’t feel like failure.

Representation That Feels Human

You don’t need a politician. You need someone relatable, honest, and willing to say, “That’s not working, let’s fix it.”

I’m not promising perfection. I’m promising effort, transparency, and a Vice President who actually cares what students think.
