I’m Safwan Ahmed, a student of MSc Digital Marketing and a firm believer in globalism. I am running for vice president to transform our university experience. You deserve more than just a degree—you deserve to be proud!

MY 4-POINT PLAN:

1. CONNECTING YOU TO INDUSTRY

• The Problem: Too many students leave without a network and connections.
• The Plan: Utilising my connections with DWP and HMRC, I will organise not only career fairs where there will be part-time student job opportunities available but also launch “RSU Industry Insiders” mixers where we will bring alumni and professionals to campus so you can connect with them and network without leaving the building.
• The Goal: Jobs, internships, and real-world exposure for every course.

2. REVIVING CAMPUS LIFE

• The Problem: The campus feels quiet after classes end.
• The Plan: I will fill the calendar with active events—from pop-up student showcases to intercultural events and social mixers. Also activate the societies to do so.
• The Goal: To make Ravensbourne a place where you want to stay, not just study.

3. A HOME FOR EVERYONE

• The Problem: International and commuter students often feel isolated and lost.
• The Plan: I will establish a dedicated mentorship scheme where the seniors and alumni from your department guide you to have a better life in this university and London.
• The Goal: Whether you are from London or overseas, you will always have a support system here.

4) STUDENT POWER & TRANSPARENCY (Accountability You Can See)

• The Problem: Students often feel decisions happen to them, not with them. Also, you don’t know what RSU is doing.
• The Plan: Hold monthly “Open Student Forums” where students raise issues directly to the RSU Panel. Share a short monthly update: what we raised, what changed, what’s next. Run quick student polls on key issues before major RSU decisions
• The Goal: A Students’ Union that is visible, accountable, and student-led.
